THE Australian share market has closed higher, propelled by a stronger performance among the big banks.
At the close on Monday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 28.3 points, or 0.56 per cent, at 5,125.8 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index was 25.6 points, or 0.5 per cent, higher at 5,108.3.
On the ASX 24, the June share price index futures contract was 15 points higher at 5,122 with 16,094 contracts traded.
