A MAN has been rescued by bystanders after striking his head on a wharf following the completion of a charity sailing event in Sydney.
Emergency services were called to the Bobbin Head marina shortly after 1pm (AEDT).
The CareFlight doctor said in a statement that the 72-year-old man from Cowra, fell as he was walking from his yacht after competing in an annual charity sail on Pittwater.
He was stabilised at the scene and taken to the Royal North Shore Hospital.
